Tom Petty said (sang), "the waiting is the hardest part" and I'm inclined to agree, in this particular situation. I may actually lose sleep tonight.

I have spent all day pouring over Oakland vs. Detroit stats.

(sidenote: I've created some new links to sites, most of which have some unique perspectives on the upcoming series...as opposed to the robot chipmunks on ESPN radio that are still calling Detroit 'the runt of the litter')

The emperical evidence points to...I have no clue. Detroit seems to have the slight statistical edge in most categories from a seasonal perspective...the only problemo, Detroit went into a fairly steady decline towards the end as opposed to the A's late season heat.

As the media execs roll their eyes and wonder, "what's the point" baseballs faithful get set to be rewarded with an ALCS that I predict will make history.
