ALCS Game 1

I must admit I had never seen Zeet pitch before. Like Wang in ALDS game 1, I have alway admired the box scores but they don't tell you the half. Zito's curveball is nasty. It's up at your cap then the bottom drops out. At some point Pudge got 2 in a row for strikes and managed to stay discipined enough not to swing at a high change-up.

What can I say about Nate. Not perfect but OHHHH! that fourth inning was spectacular. Runners on 2nd and 3rd no outs. Not sure what Leyland said at the mound but striking out the next three is as good as it gets.

For those of us that were really aching for Inge to bust out of that post season slump, last night felt great. 3 for 3, a triple away from the cycle. Kudos B.I. for sparking the collapse of the leaning tower of Zito.

On a sober note - Sean Casey injured his calf last night which could echo loudly through the course of this series. I suggest you go to this thread for a great discussion on potential roster changes to fill the big hole left by the mighty Casey. For the record I'd prefer Infante at SS and Guillen at first. If we make it to the LCS and Casey is still out I would expect Shelton to be put on the active roster to play first.
